Biography
Velia Newman
Born in Sydney, Australia. Velia began her painting career age 9 (from a painting family). Largely self-taught although had many years guidance from mother Anita Newman who is a well-known romantic impressionist artist. "Colour, Texture & Imagination are my objectives , with nature as my guide, the palette is endless.

A major part of Velias childhood was the beauty of the natural bush-land,beaches, surf, water and boating activities of the famous Northern Beaches of Sydney. Today these influences are portrayed in the brightness and vivid colour of Velia’s paintings. As a full time artist for the past ten years (previously involved in ceramic and other art mediums) her works have had an enormous impact at this early stage of her painting career. Velia is represented in many private collections with wide recognition nationally. Velia now paints full time from her studio situated on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia.
Exhibitions with recognised Australian Artists such as David Boyd , Geoff Dyer (Archibald Prize winner) & many others. Represented in numerous gallery's throughout Australia, Asia, United Kingdom and the United States. Currently 4 works in print.
